    Program Summary: 

    This program will explore ten of frequent human resources issues.  In addition to exploring federal and state discrimination, disability, retaliation and wage and hour laws, the program will also address common mistakes made in employer background checks, investigations and documentation  Finally the session will address common practical issues and circumstances faced by human resources professionals on a regular basis and will offer ways to manage them.


    Steve Zach is a partner with Boardman & Clark LLP and advises private businesses, municipalities, and school districts in the areas of general employment and labor law. He also represents insurance companies in defending municipal and private employers in discrimination claims before local, state and federal administrative agencies and in state and federal courts. Steve frequently provides training and guidance to private sector and municipal employers and supervisors on employment– related topics. He is a 1980 graduate of St. Norbert College (summa cum laude) and a 1983 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School (cum laude). Steve was selected by the State Bar of Wisconsin to receive the Law Related Education Award in 2005 and has served on the Oregon School District Board of Education for the last eighteen years and is currently its President.
