2018 BHRA Scholarship Program

    Supporting the Human Resource Profession

    Sponsored by Blackhawk Human Resource Association; scholarships are awarded to support current and aspiring HR professionals pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in Human Resources at an accredited university.

    The world in which we work is constantly changing and so do the roles and responsibilities of human resources professionals. Top management is looking to human resources for guidance on how to deal with challenges facing their organization. Human resources professionals must be prepared to assist and lead organizations to success.


    The scholarship program is open to practicing Human Resources professionals and current students who are pursuing either an undergraduate or graduate degree in Human Resources. Student must reside and/or work and/or attend college with in a 40 mile radius of Janesville, WI and be registered in an HR program that is part of an accredited university.

    Student must provide evidence of acceptance or enrollment in a Human Resources program of study. Current student must demonstrate satisfactory academic performance, as defined by a minimum grade point average of 3.0.

    Scholarship Guidelines

    Up to $3000 in scholarship money  to be awarded.

    Key Dates

    Deadline for 2018 Scholarship application is April 30, 2018.  Scholarships awarded at the May Member Appreciation Dinner.

    The application is comprised of six components:

    1.            Application Form

    2.            Current resume

    3.            Personal statement

    4.            Unofficial transcript demonstrating academic performance

    5.            One (1) letter of reference

    6.            Proof of acceptance or enrollment in an HR degree program

    Your application and application materials will not be returned.

    Selection Process

    The selection committee will review the completed applications. Selection will be based on a demonstrated commitment to a career in human resources, scholastic achievement and/or successful work experience.

    All decisions are final.
